The two executive directors of Greenpeace Germany, together with a climate activist, filed a lawsuit against Volkswagen AG on November 9th for failing to protect the climate. The lawsuit has been filed after Volkswagen rejected the demands made in a related cease and desist letter sent to the company in September. Greenpeace is also supporting an identical lawsuit filed by an organic farmer at another German court. The plaintiffs argue that the company's gigantic CO2 emissions contribute significantly to the climate crisis and its consequences. In order to protect their freedom and property rights, they are demanding that VW stops selling climate-damaging internal combustion vehicles worldwide by 2030 at the latest. This is an english translation of the summary of the motion filed against Volkswagen on November 9th, 2021. The full motion in german can be found here https://act.gp/305OH1O
